Italian Thread lift

Italian Thread lift

Thread Lift is a non-surgical facial rejuvenation technique that uses absorbable threads to lift and tighten facial skin, improve skin quality, smooth lines and wrinkles, and restructure facial contour. The underlining principle of this technique, originally developed in Korea, is to use a number of micro threads to create a mesh under the skin. These threads stimulate the inflammation that causes the formation of new blood vessels. This consequently leads to the stimulation of cells responsible for creating collagen fibers, to produce new collagen around the threads. As a result, the skin in the treated area is not only lifted and tightened, but also benefits from enhanced blood circulation.

Italian Thread Lift is the latest treatment for skin tightening and lifting. ‘Definisse’ is the first and only Italian thread brand, certified by the Thai Food and Drug Administration (Thai FDA) for thread lifting treatments. Imported from Italy, the ‘Definisse’ thread is safe, effective, and 100% absorbable. The thread, made from PLLA (Poly L Lactic Acid) and PCL (Polycaprolactone), is specially designed to better stimulate collagen production, and provide longer-lasting results than previously possible.

Interesting Facts About Italian Thread Lift

  1. The Italian thread, Definisse, is made from Poly(L-Latide-co-Caprolactone), orP(LA-CL) in short, characterized with bidirectional  convergent barbs.  Composed oftwo materials: PLLA (Poly-L-Lactic Acid) and PCL (Polycaprolactone), at a specificratio; the thread features advantages of both materials, i.e. the best ability tostimulate collagen production from PLLA, and the longest lasting ability (18-24months) compared to other absorbable threads from PCL.
  2. The Italian thread uses the Double Needle Technique, whereby on each end of the thread lies a pre-loaded needle that has a sharp tip, and is especially smooth to easily penetrate the skin in the desired direction – resulting in less swelling and bruising after the treatment.
  3. The Italian thread lift uses only one single thread per side, instead of 10 cog threads in a regular thread lift. This is because the Italian thread is designed to feature bidirectional convergent barbs that, once placed under the skin, can better adhere to the dermal layers of the skin – resulting in an instant skin tightening and lifting effect, as well as a more defined facial contour. Compared to a regular thread lift, the Italian thread lift provides longer lasting results, as it can better stimulate the production of collagen, hyaluronic acid, and elastin. The skin, thus, looks more radiant and glowing. The results will be most visible 1-2 months after the treatment, and remain for over a year.

Advantages of the Premium Italian Thread Lift Over Other Thread Lifts

  1. The Italian thread lift uses only one single thread per side, causing minimal pain, discomfort, and bruising with long-lasting lifting results, when compared to the use of multiple cogged threads.
  2. The Italian thread is more flexible and can better stimulate collagen production than any other threads currently available in the market, as it is made from a unique blend of PCL and PLLA. Not only being very flexible, PCL is also durable – lasting between 18 to 24 months.
  3. The Italian thread lift has a very long-lasting effect of 18 to 24 months, with an immediate lifting effect in the treated area. Most importantly, the Italian thread’s lifting effect gets better over time, while other threads have the lifting effect at its peak only in the initial period after treatment. This is because the Italian thread comes with bidirectional convergent barbs that can over time better adhere to the dermal layers of the skin.
  4. The Italian thread has a pre-loaded needle on each end, allowing for threading convenience in the desired direction. With the anchoring point technique, the Italian thread, unlike cog threads, uses a facial ligament as an anchoring point – thus, resulting in better and longer adherence to the dermal layers of the skin.
